Let Burke do his thing...he's an idiot anyway...I assume he wanted to be GM in Buffalo, when Patty said NO, well then Burked fired Feaster and became GM again...if only for the chance to try to screw Buffalo/Paty. He is a grudge holding wiener.

Exactly. The has never done anything as a GM, couldn't get his team to the playoffs and got canned after only a few years, bring him to Buffalo!! |

If they hire Joe, I'll find a new favorite team. He was awful in Dallas. |

There are at least a dozen candidates out there for 2 GM jobs so how is this put pressure on LaFontaine? He is 3 weeks ahead of Burke as far as interviewing goes and if one of those guys had stood out he would have been hired. As for Nieuwendyk, let Burke have him, I'll take a guy who was part of building a Stanley Cup winner over one that won it as a player. |

no thanks, i don't want nieuwendyk. He was a good player but hes never proved anything as a gm, except that he got fired while he was rebuilding a team. Pass |

Nieuwendyk would NOT be a great hire in Buffalo.
I'm fine with every candidate that has been rumored to have, or to be, interviewed here, but No-Go for Joe in Buffalo!!! |

He may be a weenie buuuut I don't think he fired a GM solely to screw the Buffalo Sabres. |

Nieuwendyk would be a disaster as a GM here, just a terrible idea. If he goes to Calgary that would be great news for Buffalo. |

He fired Feaster because he sucked at his job even worse than Nieuwendyk would. |

Didn't Joe trade James Neal AND Niskanen for Goligoski?
That should be enough to never let him GM a team, esp one in a rebuild |

one of the worst 2 trades of the last coupe of years I can remember, on the same level as the vanek for moulson, a first and a second |

Agreed, actually if the Islanders were going to make a trade with Buffalo I think they should have targeted Miller instead of Vanek. We can only assume that the first 7 teams on Miller's list were the Canadian teams and why would NY be the eighth when they were a playoff team last year. NY has scored 29 more goals then Buffalo which could translate to maybe 10 more wins and would have had them in the playoff hunt. Vanek and Moulson are pretty much equal production and it's widely expected he goes to Minnesota next year so what's there to really gain? Miller might have put them deeper into the playoffs. |
